I was fascinated by this one particular tree in Gage Park. Those who know me, know my love of coffee... so this definitely caught my eye. Don't think it produces coffee though... crappy luck!
I always get curious and consult Mr. Google. He says: "The common name "coffeetree" derives from the use of the roasted seeds as a substitute for coffee in times of poverty. They are a very inferior substitute for real coffee, and caution should be used in trying them as they are poisonous in large quantities." So, I wouldn't want to try it, although it is a very attractive tree when in leaf. — K

I thought coffee only grew in tropical climates.
Our office could use a coffee tree, tho I don't drink java myself.

Very interesting - too bad it doesn't produce coffee...:)
