Today is a historical day that actually started here in Canada. However in today's societies, it is celebrated all over the World. This holiday is a result from the Labor Union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievement of workers. The majority of countries celebrate the holiday on May 1st, known as May Day or International Workers Day. The celebration of Labor Day has its origins in the Eight-Hour Day Movement, which advocated eight hours of work, eight hours of recreation, and eight hours of rest. Albania, Australia, Bahamas, Canada, China, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey and United States we are celebrating today!
