The closer it gets to Wednesday the more excited I become. I leave early Wednesday morning. This leaves me pondering something. Even if you're not really on vacation, just knowing you're going away, why get excited? It's not like I'm going away to celebrate anything, or even to get away from it all here, its only house sitting. I'll end up more stuck there, in the country I might add, then at home in the city where everything is accessible by foot. Strange how we are!Last night was fairly active and loud outside my home. At one point I even ran outside to kick someone's butt, but they ran. Let me tell you why; I live in the worst of neighborhoods. North -end of Hamilton wasn't always this bad. This was the neighborhood for blue collar workers, dock workers, and of course bikers. Everyone knew everyone else, and all watched out for each other. Now more druggies and crackheads move about. More ignorant young people, who think they can rule the World, with drugs, alcohol, loud parties and fighting with weapons. Which brings me to last night..... my neighbors, who thankfully have the house up for sale, had another famous party when their parents went out. Lots of teenie-boppers drinking and yelling. I was reading my book, and fell asleep. I awoke to the sound of someone trying to smash the front window out downstairs. (I live above a store, being renovated into a laundromat.) So I ran downstairs, and out the door. I'm not afraid of anyone or anything and I do have a big wooden bat for tough guys... well, of course they all scattered. There was a young girl sitting on my step, which I asked if she was okay, she nodded and I went back in. A few minutes later, more screaming in the street. I looked out my bedroom window, and as I did her boyfriend, (who lives next door), got smashed in the face by another guy. His face just exploded with blood. Well, you know the war was on with these idiots right?! That guy who got punched out, goes in the house and grabbed a jack-knife. He came out and buddy who hit him ran down the street to the next corner. Well, a shouting match ensued. If you read my Twitter or posts yesterday, you may know of the Industrial fire we had down the street early in the a.m. So there were police stationed there. As soon as the fighting got to yelling, and the knife came out, a red Chevy car pulled up, and a female and male undercover cops got out. Do you know this idiot who got punched in the face, actually had the balls to tell the female cop off! I couldn't believe the total disregard for the law. She showed her gun, and it wasn't enough. She told his girlfriend, who previously sat on my stoop, to get him in the house. Which she did, after a fight. The cops got the other guy to leave, and shorty it got quiet. The police stayed down the street for a bit watching, and of course numnuts came out of his house every so often to check on them. Its amazing not only how stupid young people are, but also the blatant disregard and disrespect for the police. One day that guy will be older, and though he doesn't think so now because we all know how smart young people are, but one day he will need the help of police. I hope they remember his disrespect and take their time helping him.
You know this reminds me, and it should for you too, that we need police. We pay through our taxes for them to protect us, so why such total disregard towards them? If they weren't there you would scream for help, and no one would come. Shouldn't this mean we treat our people who serve and protect just a little better than everyone else? Not worse?!
