The turtle is inside the hole, digging, so it can lay its' eggs.

They also have a hard life. Here in Michigan the DNR already approved on shooting cayote's because they tend to eat the egg's turtle so the decrease of the turtle's population. Sometimes we think that it doesn't matter but every living things is part of the so called animal kingdom cycle an if something is broken well it might bring some abnormalities to our environment. Happy Tuesday!
