You're right but some countries' road signs are better than others. I personally find Malaysia's often very terrible -- and should anyone wonder, yes, I'm Malaysian! ;S
Most of the time they are invaluable... but on occasion I have seen them to be wrong or very confusing.. especially when a GPS lady voice is urging you to go a different way.... I just wanted to pull off the road and check a real paper map!

Most of us would be in a lot of trouble without those signs.

These road signs are very important however, there are some who still get lost even if there are signs like that, :D
