Round Robin Challenge: 5 miles

For more: http://roundrobinphoto.blogspot.com

I traveled North and Northwest, and 5km is longer than 5m so I'm good. It was great to find ships on a clear day. Had to shoot it through a bloody fence though. Not so pleased with that.... but what could I do?!

Look what I found!

The name of the ship.

There was one man walking on deck, just not in my photo.

The side view. Looks like they're repairing this ship.

Final view. Lake Ontario accompanied.

Enjoyed the pics. I lived in western NY for many years, but it's been a long time since I've seen Lake Ontario. I used to love to walk along the beaches at sunset.

Even with the fence that's a nice shot, it really gives a feel for the size of the ship. The last shot with the view of the lake is great.

I'll be swimming and fishing in cold Lake Ontario this August, and I can hardly wait. The ships are HUGE! I can feel the winds whipping around my head as I am standing ont he dock with oyuj taking your shots.

Very nice shots. It must be great to be so close to this huge body of water. Have a great weekend...

Hi!
Great shots of the ships! I was at the Soo Locks a few years ago and there was some ships there. You don't really get how big they are until your right beside one of them. Have a great day!

The fence is part of the view but I know what you mean. Great shots of the ships!

Hi Freda :)

LOVE the big ships. We have them here on the bay, and I always find myself daydreaming about what they are carrying and where they might be going. I like the shots you got, and I agree with Sandy, the fence is apart of what you saw, and it tells a tale but I also know the frustration of an unwanted obstruction in a photo I am trying to take. With me, it's power lines that I find distracting. LOL. :)

What an interesting place to be nearby! I like the third and final shots the best. We used to rent a vacation home near Henderson Harbor every year when I was a kid, but I never saw the big ships like these on Lake Ontario. Very cool.
